When running Visual Paradigm products, you may receive a message that asks you to increase the memory size in order to complete an action, e.g. generate report for a large scale project. In such case, you need to increase the heap size of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM).

Here are the new and enhanced features of Visual Paradigm Suite 4.0.

ABC Company is a medium-sized reseller company that specialized in reselling a large stock of computer parts such as motherboards, CPU, chassis and LCD monitors. Since their inception last year, they keep recording a decline of sales records every month. Therefore, they are now looking to improve their business by studying and reviewing their workflow. Starting from VP Suite 3.4 Service Pack 1, we support a brand new feature for business process modeling, called Animacian. Animacian is a tool to help you make a process design active by presenting the flow in animation form. This can make your design more attractive by animating it. Besides, you can control the flow of animation yourself to help demonstrating your work to client with your annotation. Moreover, it helps validating your business process by listing out the valid and invalid execution paths. Finally, it calculates all possible paths for your business process, making the result of process evaluation more accurate.

In VP Suite 3.4 Service Pack 1, there are lots of enhancements in our design pattern support, which gives you higher flexibility in defining patterns. For example, you can define cloneable classes as well as implementation hierarchies. With the enhancements, you can define and apply Gang of Four design patterns to designs effectively.

The Show and Hide Diagram Element feature was introduced in the previous version, allowed user to show only those elements on the diagram pane which they are interested for performing some operations more conveniently in a temporary state. In this release, the Show/Hide Diagram Element feature is enhanced to let you show or hide diagram elements that extend a particular stereotype.

Within any Visual Paradigm products, commands can be invoked by pressing certain keys in the keyboard, as shortcuts. For example, holding down the Ctrl modifier key with the 'S' key invokes the save command. Now, key bindings, which is the assignment of keys to commands, can be customized. This permits you to use the familiar keystroke for invoking commands in VP.

When working collaboratively as a team, we often need to know how our work may affects the others work, or vice versa. Visual Paradigm team collaboration support lets you know the changes that will occur in project when attempting to committing or updating works. In this release, you also can preview the changes. With this improvement, you can preview what you have modified before confirming a commit action. You can also preview what others have changed prior to updating their changes from server. More important, the preview can help resolving conflicts by foreseeing the result of overwrite and revert.

When managing teamwork project as an administrator, assigning large amount of users to a project involves a lot of repeated steps, and takes time. Starting from VP Suite 3.4 Service Pack 1, you can create unlimited number of user groups and assign it to a project, which grants the same permissions to all users whole belong to the group. One user can belong to more then one user group. This flexibility makes it much easier for managing teamwork project with a large number of users.
